Andrew Palau, a veteran of many Palau Festivals, did not always intend to work with his father, world evangelist and author Luis Palau.
Like his three brothers, Andrew grew up in a strong Christian home but he alone chose not follow a Christian path. He attended the University of Oregon where the party life was a large part of his studies. After graduating with a degree in English literature, Andrew moved to Boston where, for five years, he worked in retail for the May Company.

In 1993, Andrew took vacation time to join his parents for a festival in Kingston, Jamaica. There he met Wendy Levy, whom he later married. During this outreach Andrew opened his heart and “came home” to God after 27 years.

Not long after the Jamaica trip, Andrew returned to Portland, Oregon, to serve as Luis’ personal assistant while he determined which direction to take his career. He found he didn’t have far to go - he thrived on being involved with the festivals.

Andrew was instrumental in crafting the content of the first Palau festivals staged in the Palau’s home town. Before moving to direct Washington, DC’s event on the National Mall in 2005, Andrew directed festivals in Boise, Idaho, and South Florida. Recently, he has traveled to India, Romania, Mexico, Egypt and Poland where he demonstrated much of his father’s gifting and passion for evangelism.

“I pray that thousands will hear the Good News at these festivals,” he says. “That they would be open to hear God’s voice and that many would receive the Lord, forgiveness of sin, the Holy Spirit of God in their lives, and confidence about eternity.”

In a busy 2008, Palau will give a message of hope at a number of events in the U.S and overseas, including Mandeville, Jamaica; Bucharest, Romania; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Andrew and Wendy have two sons - Christopher and Jonathan - and a newly adopted daughter Sadie Anne. They live in Portland, Oregon, close to the world headquarters of the Palau ministry.
